Unruh and Finley Osborn are on the night shift. the change was ordered January 2. Stone submitted a resignation letter to the city council and awaits action. New R F D Route Opens Near Shafter

Five Hurt After Car Collision Near E. V. Kattenhorn Ranch

Camp Near Shafter Discontinued To Eliminate Fire Hazard
Migratory labor camp south of Shafter was moved and closed by order of the county board of supervisors to reduce fire risk in the high pressure Shafter oil field. Band To Play At Building Dedication In Shafter
A public concert by the United States Army Air Corps Basic Training school band east of Shafter marks the dedication of Shafter's army recreation center tomorrow evening. The 7:30 to 8:00 performance faces the recreation building near the post office with James Street closed for spectators. About 100 air corps soldiers will attend a post concert program and dance inside the building, limited to invitees. Event sponsored by the Shafter Business Men's association with local officials coordinating refreshments and hostesses. The WPA recreation division funded the center, supervised for soldiers and invited guests.
