Rev Margaret Baker reflects on worry and faith in God as a remedy for fear of the future. She cites a booklet What can I do with my worry and notes 2010 conditions: unemployment and debt, urging trust in God to meet needs.
A devotional piece urges readers to seek the Kingdom of God, cast burdens on Him, and replace worry with prayer and action. It cites biblical figures like Adam, Eve, Abraham, Jacob, and verses from Psalms and Philippians to argue worry stems from misplaced trust and is eased by faith, prayer lists, and concrete acts of care. It emphasizes finding a church in 2010 and trusting God’s plan.
California faces a heated year of ballot measures with water policy at the center. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger backs an $11.1 billion water bond linking dams and Delta protections, while Attorney General Jerry Brown remains cautious. The plan, backed by major environmental groups, could shape the governor’s race as lawmakers tucked district projects into the package. The outcome hinges on a politically charged water battle and its broader implications for state governance.
