Judge Ingle Sworn In Shafter Wasco District Courts
Gary Ingle was sworn in for a six year term as judge for the Shafter and Wasco District Courts by Kern County Supervisor Gene Tackett at the Wasco Justice Building on December 28, 1982. He will serve January 1983 to January 1989 after running unopposed in the last election and was chosen in 1981 from eight candidates. Shafter enjoyed a relatively quiet productive year in 1982. City administrator August Caires announced six liability suits were closed or settled. The city and Recreation and Parks District explored an athletic facility for Shafter High School Ag Farm. Police and fire departments restructured and crime prevention started. Loyd Link became mayor in April with new council members Cathy Prout and John Thomas.
