Richland junior high chess club doubles in size
The Richland Chess Club grew this year forcing the district to form two separate groups. Teachers Mr. Rodriguez and Mrs. O Neill led younger and older cohorts with aides Yvette Sanchez and Antonia Mejia guiding kindergartners through eighth graders. Eduardo Perez, a seventh grader, won first in a five round tournament at Frazier Park, finishing with a perfect five wins.
