City to assume liability for quake damage to new DMV building

Boy Plays Burned In Garage Accident
Six year old Dale Stamback of 407 Shaw St suffered first second and third degree burns to his legs in a fuel spill incident. His brother left gasoline accessible in a garage causing a can to ignite and explode. Dale is in Bakersfield Memorial Hospital in fair condition with legs iced and expected to stay ten days to two weeks.
