Continental Wildcat Reaches 19,000 Feet Near Shafter

Income Tax Men To Open Offices Here Tomorrow
State and federal tax officials will open offices in Shafter on Santa Fe Way tomorrow and Saturday from 9 a m to 5 p m. They will assist with forms and accept payments, but will not file returns for individuals. State returns have income thresholds for singles and married filers. federal thresholds apply to gross income.
Crash Victims From Shafter Funeral Details Released
Bodies of the crash victims were shipped Friday to Generate Arkansas for burial. Jerome Horn, 1, a Shafter High School senior and June graduate, died at Mercy Hospital after the one vehicle collision on the wet highway north of Shafter. The other driver, an automobile salesman, is hospitalized with a punctured lung. The crash happened when Horn passed a car, began to skid, and the two cars collided. Survivors include Evély Horn, widow, two sons Lawrence and Trueman, a daughter Mrs. C C Brown, another daughter in Clarksville, and five grandchildren.

Dog Vaccination At Shafter City Hall Tomorrow
Dogs from Shafter city and surrounding area will be vaccinated tomorrow at Shafter City Hall on Santa Fe Way from noon to 5 pm. A Kern County health vet will conduct the shots with fees for city residents at 1.50 and outside-city owners at 1 or 1.50 by sex. After vaccination, unlicensed dogs will be picked up and placed in the city pound. redemption is required to claim them. This marks the second vaccination session this year following 78 dogs vaccinated in January and a reported drop in rabies cases since compulsory vaccination began.
