Superior announces Moore No 1 location with 990 feet north and 850 feet west of Section 1 29 25 near Shatter and Greeley fields. A producer is likely as wells are secured on three sides. rig moves from nearby site and Moore, resident since 1917, has leased oil rights. Osborn 1 3 and other wells at nearby sections are also under spudding.

Jack Bataglia Survives Reservoir Car Crash

Shafter produce dealer Jack Bataglia escaped serious injury after his car skidded on a wet highway, rolled over twice, went up a reservoir bank and fell in Tuesday morning about half a mile north of the Shafter Farm Workers' community on Santa Fe Way. The vehicle was demolished and Bataglia suffered only bruises. Constable John Reilly reported the accident details.

Y Conference Slated March 8 for Shafter

An older boys Y M C A conference will be held in Shafter on March 8. J V Wilson, Hi Y club advisor, announced representatives from Kern County communities. City Council Plans April Election for Incorporation Vote

The council will meet at City Hall at 7 p m to set an election date on whether Shafter should remain incorporated. A petition signed by 170 qualified voters was declared sufficient by City Clerk Frank Shaw at last week’s meeting, making an April election probable.
