The Shafter Lions Club hosts annual matinee harness races and barbecue to raise funds for sight conservation and other charities. Shafter Police report 11 arrests including drugs and DUI
Shafter police made 11 arrests Saturday night for alcohol or traffic related offenses. Gary McGowan, 26, was jailed on public intoxication and an outstanding Kern County warrant, with drugs found during a custodial search.
