Agencies seek a city grant to develop community driven health mental health and social services using schools as the base. Applications due March 1 1997. An informational meeting is set for Feb 25 at 6 30 pm in the Intermediate School Cafeteria. Volunteer info available at 305 7700. Next week will cover success rates and benefits.
The Shafter Press notes open depot hours for viewing and group tours by appointment with Denni Pearson or Stan Wilson. Weekly crafts meet at 1 pm Mondays at W C Walker Senior Center led by Barbara Tisler. Second Monday features Woman's Agron meetings at 7 pm at the Veterans Hall. First Thursday Community Prayer gathers at City Hall from 12 30 pm to 12 40 pm with participation from local church members.
