Family of victim outraged as Mian faces parole in local murder case
The Press reports that Justo Guzman, 21, convicted of the 1995 shooting death of Ramiro Lopez Espinoza in Shafter, may be paroled March 18, 1997 after serving 1 1/2 years of a three year term. Espinoza’s family opposes the release, calling the sentence too short. Guzman, charged as accessory after the fact, previously admitted to involvement in the killing that occurred while Espinoza jogged near Elizabeth and South Shafter Avenues.
