Know Your Money Pictures Shown To Local Groups
A motion picture with sound was shown Tuesday before members of the Shafter Rotary club and the Shafter high school student body by James H. Mulgan non, a United States Secret Service agent. The film Know Your Money explained currency printing and counterfeiting, with Mulgan non noting that small study helps business people detect fakes when compared side by side with genuine notes. Rotarian Glenn C. Nay introduced the screening, with guests John Mackinlay, Dr. G. A. Graybill, Henry Lepp, and Charley West attending, and visiting Rotarian Howard K. Dickson of Bakersfield present.

White Rat Diet Study By Homemaking Class Students
Two white rats vie for a humane study on diet effects at a local high school. One rat follows a balanced diet of meat milk vegetables fruit and grain while the other mimics a student’s fare of soda hot dogs beans candy pastry and condiments. Over eight weeks teachers and girls record weight and development in separate cages with the aim of noting changes and potential recovery if the run-down rat later switches to a balanced diet.
