Recreation group irons plan for county wide district
The Kern County Recreation and Cultural Commission weighs a Bakersfield district proposal that would include eighteen outlying communities. Supporters seek a county wide mill tax shared by all commissions, while preserving home rule and local management. New year officers are Mrs. Frank E. Starke president, John Urner vice president, and Mrs. R. W. Loudon secretary. Bakersfield may form its own districts if no infringement occurs.
