CHP Migrant Worker Safe to Drive Program Launch
The CHP launches the Migrant Workers Safe to Drive Program under a state grant from the Office of Traffic Safety via NHTSA. The Central Division SAFE Unit will deploy about 117 extra patrols through Sept 2007 to target DUI and general traffic safety in rural Central Valley farming communities with outreach and education as well.

Alliance offers 10 week domestic violence volunteer training
The Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault runs a free 10 week crisis training course for volunteers and staff. Sessions run Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 to 10 p.m. Feb 6 through March 8 at 1921 19 Street Bakersfield with a $10 materials fee.
