Canine Rabies Clinic Set for Shafter Monday
Dog owners in Shafter can vaccinate and tag pets to guard against rabies. The clinic runs Monday February 7 from 12 noon to 5 p m at the County Fire Department Shafter with Dr W C Buss and county health officers. A write-in campaign altered the expected vote as Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District Directors were chosen in three of five divisions. In division 5 Rolf A. Jacobsen retained his seat with 47 votes while A. Peter Ohanneson drew 12 write-ins. one voter wrote in Ohanneson for Treasurer-Assessor-Collector. Clarence Annin led division 1 with 21 votes, Johnston 22, and Edward J. Peters 15 in division 4. Directors Annin, Peters and Jacobsen are elected. Johnston re-elected. The board will canvass the results next Monday.
