Agey Defends County Action in Heating Element Dispute
County Purchasing Agent Ralph Agey told the county board that a July 19 1937 charge for a heating element at Kern General hospital was billed at 387 instead of 110 and that the county would be repaid the difference. He blamed a billing error on Bakersfield Pipe and Supply and said he reported the error once alerted. Supervisor Charles Wimmer accused Agey and demanded an appearance from witness McKenney who failed to appear, delaying the hearing to next Monday.
