Driver Training Starts at Shatter High for 1967 68
Bakersfield area district trustees announced Shatter High will move driver training to a new campus for the 1967 68 year with mobile units planned at 2nd and P Streets. The current 3 to 6 pm schedule will shift to a full day in 1967 summer sessions, with behind the wheel training in nine of eleven high schools by 1969.

Shafter Boys Hospitalized After Motorcycle Accident
Jerry Lynn Jones aged 14 and Noble Rodney Witcher 13 were hospitalized at Kern General after a motorcycle collision with a car on Riverside Drive. Jones suffered multiple fractures including a broken leg and arms. Witcher had a broken ankle and painful toe. Both were on a private road when they emerged onto a public road and hit Minnie Jane Comstock's car.
