Decorating contest winners announced by Shafter Recreation District
Winners of the first annual Christmas decorating contest were announced this week. Entries were judged for both inside and outside decor in two categories, with Antonio’s Hair Design and The Shafter Press tied for first in overall honors. Second went to The Shafter Flower Shop, third to Central Pharmacy, and honorable mentions to Shafeo Bank of America and Fashion Crossroads.

Cotton trade mission voices global cotton prospects
Fred Starrh led a five member USA cotton trade mission to Eastern Bloc countries in September.
