Kern County plans its twelfth State of the County Dinner sponsored by the Kern County Board of Trade. The event on January 20, 2010 at the Bakersfield Marriott Ho tel Convention Center features the incoming chairman of the Board of Supervisors as keynote. Doors open 5:30 p m for networking. dinner 6:30 p m. program 7:30 p m. Tickets must be bought in advance by January 13.

Bank of America Robbery Suspect Sought in Shafter
On December 17 at 12 06 p m a caucasian male wearing sunglasses and a Dickies hoodie robbed the Bank of America in downtown Shafter. He demanded money with a handgun and fled in a white Chevy Silverado, last seen east on E Lerdo Highway. Photos were released by Shafter Police, which also checked fingerprints. the bank was taped off. Call Detective Grider at 661 746 8500 with tips.
