Richland-Lerdo Center’s Planned Growth Fueled by Community Support
The Richland-Lerdo Activities Foundation was created to provide low cost activities for children. RLSD won a $10,000 energy efficiency package from PG&E to fund the center, with total phase one projected at about $550,000 and roughly 10,800 square feet. City of Shafter and grants supplement funding as Knapp notes the project as a community effort amid a California recession.
