Allen Taylor won the most valuable player award chosen by teammates on the yet to be identified team for scholastic excellence. Joe Martinez was named MVP for the Colonel squad and Art Brownell Jr. received the scholastic award. Bobby Moore was named honorary captain of the C team. Dan en, Glenn Mal, and Dale Fashbender presented the Rivards honors. Michael J. Pecarovich delivered the keynote address while others from local clubs and organizations attended and pledged allegiance.
A live nativity will depict the birth of Christ at E. Fender West of Smiths Corner on the north side of the road. Mary, the shepherds and Wise Men will be portrayed by local residents on Wednesday and Thursday three days before Christmas, for one hour from 7 to 8 p m. Dressed in period costume, a large star will illuminate the scene. Mrs Homer Steiner helps prepare cardboard animals and scenery. The live figures include Mr and Mrs C E Fenderson and others who will attend.

A memorial chimes fund at Ebenezer Reformed Church honors Bertha Kirschenmann a 62 year old cancer victim and charter member. The installation includes amplified organs and speakers enhancing daily Christmas music from 5 30 to 5 45 p m through December 25 with residents hearing a fifteen minute recital each afternoon.
Kern County growers receive notices for peanut rice and cotton allotments as the December 15 referendum on marketing quotas nears. Ashots show penalties for excess production and full support for compliant farmers, with eligibility tied to allotments for the 1960 61 crops. Any questions should go to the County ASC Committee.

The Hart Park lane project drained and cleaned to support a sport fish lake started last summer with Lake Ming as a boating facility.
