Salvation Army in Shafter Seeks Local Donations and Volunteers
Residents of Shafter are urged to support a community aid drive funded locally as funds from affluent areas shrink. Volunteers will place donation canisters, ring bells, and accept mailed contributions. The service extension, chaired by Sandy Armstrong with Esther Chavez Armida Bogan and Franklin Bergman, helps 10 to 30 families weekly by collecting food and clothing with aid from Primera Iglesia Bautista and Mennonite Brethren Church volunteers.
