Local inventor revives old house look with antique fridge cover
Shafter resident Marion Coats remodeled a 1911 home adding a country charm kitchen. He invented a wooden paneling cover that screws over modern fridges to resemble antique units. After patenting the idea in 1992 he aims to expand. Coats earned award recognition at a Pasadena invention ceremony and plans Eloise's Little Country Place a corner shop selling Coca Cola antiques and Western style refrigerators.
