Trout Action Heats Up at Tulare Lake Basin
Anglers reported trophy sized trout on opening day with 2 pound peak catches and many limits. Trollers did well but cheese and red eggs with ultra slow retrieves produced most fish near the lake ends. Pheasant and dove seasons closed amid a poor year while Mills Hunting Preserve offers pheasant and chukar hunts nearby. A Canada Goose hunting anecdote closes the note with a bold successful decoy setup and a trophy shot.
