Hunters Reserve 2nd Half Shooting With New Form Rules
The Department of Fish and Game announced second half waterfowl shooting dates with a new green form for reservations. Opening day is December 6 and 12 areas will operate with a daily shooter capacity of 1,675. Grizzly Island in Solano County may be first come first served if reservations miss daily quotas.

Counts contest awards tires for drag racing project at Counts Castle
Bruce Crawford of Richland Elementary School district head received four white wall tires in a Thanksgiving Day contest at Counts Castle. Donations came from Monroe Brown Leonard Rurup of McCoy Yuck and Tire Recap Bakersfield and Jack Thompson of Jack Thompson Trucking Shafter. Funds raised support constructing a drag racing coupe aimed to exceed 100 mph in a quarter mile, built around a 302 GMC engine in a 1936 Ford chassis with center engine placement and full safety features. Mr and Mrs Charles Brooks of Salinas visited relatives Eugene and wife Romas, spending a weekend in Salinas enjoying pleasant weather.
