ITTC Welcomes First Tenants to Shafter Industrial Park

ITTC in Shafter leasing half of its first 168000 square foot building to The Hillman Group a Cincinnati based hardware fasteners company Hillman will relocate 35 Bakersfield employees to the new Shafter facility ITTC President Joseph E Drew states this marks the right start. The Allen Group emphasizes Shafter site benefits including access via I 5 and Highway 99 rail served 500 acres of the 702 acre park and state tax incentives via the expanded Enterprise Zone aiding private sector jobs.

Students compete in 20th District We the People hearings

SHS government classes from Mack, Asco, Shafter, and Arvin High Schools join 13 district teams for the annual We the People mock congressional hearings at California State University on December 9 1999. Students answer six questions about the Bill of Rights roles of citizens and related current events while preparing testimony and researching cases. The winners advance to a Kern County event December 13 and state championship February 4 in Sacramento.
