Long-time Shafter businessman Jack Hambaroff dies at 70
Jack Hambaroff, a longtime Shafter resident and friend to many, died August 23 after diabetic illness. Services set for August 30 at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter. He and his wife Delores ran the Western Auto Store from 1967 to 1994 and were active in Calvary Baptist Church and the Shafter Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed fixing machines, riding a Honda Nighthawk, and cheering the Angels. He is survived by his wife, daughters Joy Stamp and Janice Strauser, son Pete Hambaroff, seven grandchildren, and siblings in Bakersfield. The funeral will be at Shafter Memorial Park with Pastor Rich Paradis officiating.
