Supervisors Win Decision on Kern County Tax Rate
The Kern county board of supervisors will set the tax rate at a recessed meeting tomorrow morning. The board can fix any rate it sees fit, following a decision by Appellate Judge Pat R. Parker of Mono County. Parker, sitting in Bakersfield, sustained a demurrer in the suit by Alfred Siemen against the supervisors and County Auditor A. Woody. Funeral Held for Adolph Schultz Victim of Motorcycle Crash
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Adolph Schultz, 33, at the Janzen Funeral Home in Shafter. Schultz died Thursday from injuries after his motorcycle skidded and overturned on a highway near town. He had earlier recovered from a similar crash. Born in Jamestown North Dakota, he is survived by his parents in Isabel South Dakota, Mrs Lydia Reimath of Carville Oregon, Emma Schultz of Isabel South Dakota, and August Schultz who is returning to Oregon with Mrs Reimath. Interment was in Shafter cemetery.
