The Community Action Partnership offers a drought relief food giveaway in Shafter at the Youth Center this Friday from 5 to 7 pm. This event provides staples like vegetables potatoes and rice to families affected by the drought.
The OFCC of Wasco teams with Buttonwillow Chamber of Commerce and Cindi Brannon for the 5 Annual Bill Brannon Memorial Car Show on September 13 at Buttonwillow Park Highway 58. From 8 30 a.m. to 3 30 p.m. the free spectators event aligns with Buttonwillow’s festival and parade. Proceeds support Multiple System Atrophy research, with Vanderbilt University leading study efforts and an awareness push for a cure. A celebrity appearance is possible.
