The Shafter Recreation and Park District hired David Stricker as District Manager. His first day was July 28. He began in recreation as a lifeguard at 15, worked as Bakersfield’s Recreation Specialist, and led the Arthritis Association’s Adaptive Aquatic Center. He holds a Cal Poly recreation degree and pursues a Cal State Bakersfield public administration masters. He serves as President Elect for California Park and Recreation Society District XV and co presented at CPRS District Conference. He is married to Kristina and they have two cats.
