Five-Week Diving Camp Shapes Shafter Swimmer Henley
Dylan Henley, entering his third year at Shafter High, attends a five week University of Indiana diving camp led by U S coach Jeff Huber. International participants from England, Australia, Denmark and Egypt joined week four. Henley learns new techniques, hopes to impress college coaches, and may pursue a university diving scholarship. He funded the trip with local sponsors, aided by community support. He also supports Wasco/Shafter week festivities and participates in drama projects with his brother Blake. He plans to return next summer to continue improving and perhaps earn a scholarship.
