Shafter Insurance Office Hosts Local Art Gallery
State Farm agent Joe Kirk uses his Central Avenue office as a quiet gallery for 22 local artists. The display features oil, watercolor, prints, pencil, needlework, tapestries, carvings, and hand painted china, each piece labeled with the artist’s name. A lone pencil sketch of a horse and rider at O’Brien race track remains unsigned, while two Burgess works aged 60 years were resigned as Brownell. The collection honors Shafter history and local families and is not for sale, only for viewing.
