A Shafter man, Frederick Garcia, 28999 Los Angeles Street, died after his car left the Central Valley Highway near Sherwood Avenue while speeding. John Rodney Jungquist, 334 Pacific, was unconscious after a motorcycle crash at Beech and CVH and later regained consciousness. Ramio Chavez Acosta, 18870 Beech Avenue, was injured when two trucks collided on Freeway 99 near Famoso junction, ending with one driver dead and the other injured.
