City moves to abandon Sellars Water System in receivership case
At the August 3 meeting Shafter officials announced action to abandon the Sellars Water Company system, which has operated under receivership for four years. The two sites serve about 125 homes each. The council aims to replace the valueless system with a new water project funded by Farmers Home Administration, while vowing that the old lines will not be used.
