New Cornet Variety Store Opens in Shafter Area
Grand opening morning drew residents to the Cornet variety store on central avenue Shafter. Manager William Shipley said the opening runs through Saturday with hours aligned to other Shafter stores. McKibbon noted Cornet’s long regional presence and 28 years of service with 12 new locations in 12 years. The fixtures emphasize self load and semi-sell service and the store was built by Dalke Brothers with Loewen Plumbing and Electrical Shop.
