Kern County Fair unveils foam coating upgrade
The Kern County Fair in Bakersfield approves a $94,800 contract with Perma-Tite Roofing Co. to foam coat the three largest fairground buildings Albert Goode Auditorium and Exhibition Buildings 1 and 2. The project, funded by fair earnings, aims to weatherproof the roofs and walls with urethane, totaling about 102,300 dollars with ventilation work. Work begins within 10 days and ends before September 10.

Shafter to receive safer award this year
Shafter will receive a Pedestrian Safety Citation for one year without a pedestrian death. The Auto Club of Southern California coordinated the awards, with 50 Southland cities and five military installations cited for 1977. The AAA sponsors the 39th Pedestrian Safety Inventory and will present to city officials.
