S P Schultz, Shafter pioneer, looked after business in town. Mrs G W Palmer returned from Tulare with her mother. Ray Dowling and Joe Frizzell Jr camped near Kern River. Friends swam at Democratic Hot Springs. A Bokemper and M E Robinson left for Nebraska. Murray Arnold and wife returned from Huntington Lake. Dan Loewen and party drove to Los Angeles. Lee Thomas returned from Grand Junction Colorado. C E Tanksley and W C Grose drove to Pismo Beach to visit Mrs Grose. Mrs Grose improving and expected to return soon.
Shafter Travel and Local Visits Chronicle Weekend
Ernest Schultz and brother Harry visited Santa Maria to meet their father S. P. Schultz and returned to Shafter Friday night. Theatre manager Ernest Panero and operator Carl Gunnarson fished Kings River last week with Panero reportedly releasing a large catch. Bob Neuman and R. A. Jacobsen spent days in San Francisco then joined Shafter hunters in Mendocino for deer season opener August 1. Roy Paslay A J Willard families and Goldie Martin with Julia Kidd enjoyed a Sunday at Mooney Grove. G W Garrard, Bakersfield night school head, inspected Shafter schools and met E P Jones. Emil Stoller returned from San Francisco aboard the Santa Fe, accompanied by Armold and Emil Kirschenmann to Santa Cruz. E W Gage and daughter Muriel with Elma Gaede left for a northern California vacation to be away until September first, planning San Francisco and Clear Lake. Sunday visitors Vernon Pierce and family spent the day in Sequoia National Park then paused in Dinuba with Mrs. Pierce’s parents J L Delman.
