Migrant Education program honors hardworking students
Parents educators and Migrant Education Program members gathered to honor seven weeks of study in Math History and Science by migrant students at SHS. Under English Chair Barbara Hays their efforts earned high school credits while working 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. in fields and studying 4 30 to 8 30 p.m. weekdays.

A Friday blaze near the intersection of ae Diego ice in wa ter burned 360 tons of baled straw, a Minneapolis Moline tractor, and a cotton trailer from noon until about 11:30 p.m. Fire officials cited $7,500 straw damage, $500 to the tractor, and $150 to the trailer, with the fire spreading from the trailer floor to the straw and hay barn.
