Greeley Crude Similar to Mid-Continent Oils
Analyses by the Bureau of Mines show Greeley and Ten Sections crudes near Shafter resemble mid-continent oils from Seminole Oklahoma and parts of Kansas. They weigh about 87 degrees API with sulfur around 0.28–0.37 percent, containing about 35 percent gasoline and naphtha. Discovery wells: Ten Sections in June 1986 by Shell Oil. Greeley near Shafter completed December 1936 by Standard Oil.

Union Well Reaches 6290 Feet At Shafter Site
Among a crowd of su perintendents geologists and drillers Union Oil reports rapid drilling on the Shafter well KCL 1-34 28-25 three and one half miles south of town reaching 6290 feet in one month. Standard Oil’s Greeley field test at KCL 11-3 20 29 26 flowed 1500 barrels of 48 gravity oil and 12 000 000 cubic feet of gas as oil sand continues to be found down to 78538 feet with three more wells planned for production tests this week and KCL 12 1 on Rosedale highway to test oil sand at 7800 feet.

The King Luber Co office had a lone dime taken via a triangle cut window. no other items missing and the thief fled.
