Kern County Schools Plan Uniform Testing Program
The California Elementary School Administrators Association outlines a county wide testing program for grades five eight and eleven adding the Metropolitan Readiness Test for first grade and the California Mental Test on grade level. Coordinators Milton Wilson and John Whitfield lead the effort with district superintendents and principals from Baron School Tehachapi High School and Southern Kern Union School District applauding the plan. Districts are urged to adopt conditional testing and avoid limiting to minimum requirements under state law testing dates span Oct 15 to Nov 15 1962 for fifth grade Feb 1 to Feb 28 1963 for eighth grade and the eleventh grade testing occurs within 20 school days after March 15 1963.
