Cooperating with C S Garrison agronomist at Shafter for the United States Department of Agriculture about 8000 plants from cuttings were air brought and transplanted in three county plots. Plants include smooth brome grass timothy trefoil white clover red clover and alfalfa from Canada Minnesota Kentucky Maryland New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. The test seeks to determine how environments affect seeding habits and whether seed can be produced locally without losing characteristics.

Bakersfield Teams Sweep Kern Relays at Teute Tulare Meet
Bakersfield high schools dominated the Kern Relays with Class A titles scoring 43 points to Taft 29 and Shafter 25 2 3. In Class B Bakersfield led with 39% points, Wasco 29% and Delano 22. The C meet saw Bakersfield edge Bucks 39 35 as Delano placed third with 29. Jesse Bradford placed second in the 100 and shared pole vault honors at 11 feet 7 inches.
