Shafter Considers New Business License Ordinance

Clements Found Dead Near Potato Shed
Ernest Marion Clements was found dead Saturday afternoon at 1:25 p.m. under boxcars used by the F. W. Handel Company for potato handling. He was discovered by Charles Coleman, 20, of Prince Lane, while working at the K and M Potato shed nearby. Sgt. Bob Nixon led the investigation. autopsy pending. Clements, a common laborer in the Shafter area, had recently arrived from elsewhere for work and had relatives in an unspecified location. He had likely been dead for one or two days.
