Three Arrested in Shafter Drug Raid at Lerdo Avenue
Shafter police arrested Nora Katherine Solomon 24 Kenneth Ray Knight 21 and John Flores 24 after a Monday night narcotics raid at 174 West Lerdo Highway apartment. Officers confiscated about $20 worth of heroin a small amount of marijuana 14 syringes two pipes and five heating spoons. Knight faced multiple charges including possession of heroin and narcotics paraphernalia and being under the influence of heroin. Flores was charged for marijuana use and Solomon for paraphernalia and marijuana use in a drug location.

Trio Sentenced for Armed Robbery of 91-Year-Old Man
Three youths from Shafter were sentenced to serve the first 179 days of an 180-day jail term after pleading guilty to armed robbery in Shafter Justice Court. They bound the 91-year-old victim, William H. Underwood, with cords and robbed him of a rifle and about $130, then fled.
