Richland Lerdo District Puts Learning Laboratory Program
The Richland Lerdo School District will study a Learning Laboratory Program across K-2, 3-4, and 5-6 to standardize language arts and reading. Each site would house 32 stations with computers and software, assess students in reading, and move learners at individualized paces. A coordinator for grades 3-6 may oversee before and after school efforts, with funding from Federal Chapter I. The project costs about 458000 over three years, and parental access and bilingual support are planned. An extra 50000 is sought to upgrade junior high curriculum with tech modules.

Richland Lerdo district outlines senior center project
RLSD trustees began bids on February 3 for a two phase senior center in Greenfield awarding the contract to La Quinta Construction of San Diego for about 700000. Valley Steel of Bakersfield will supply the metal structure with support from SRPD Kern County and City funds. The project will be supervised by RLSD during school hours and by SRPD after school and weekends with both districts handling maintenance.
