Kern County officials met at Edwards AFB with NASA to plan crowd and traffic control for the first manned shuttle landing at Edwards scheduled for Nov 11. Officials expect 1 to 1.5 million visitors and a 90 mile to 1,260 mile jam, with 54 hours clearance after landing, prompting a regional emergency coordination effort.
