Richland School marks track as a key part of physical education for grades four through eight. Students train daily in squads during March and April with a School Track Meet in mid April awarding ribbons to top finishers and pennants to rooms.
Audrey Leigh Wisner was elected president of the Shafter Business and Professionals Club at the Thursday meeting April 1. She previously led the club in 1964-65.

The American Legion Auxiliary sponsored annual Americanism essay contest at Richland School with two student groups. Group one first place went to Margie Prado, second Peggy Bergen, and third Linda O'Brien. Group two winner is noted but unnamed.
Ed Peters Jr a Mennonite Brethren disaster committee member who worked in the northern flood area will present slides of the flood region to the Men's Christian Group at Ebenezer Reformed Church The meeting is set for 7 30 p m Wednesday April 7.
Ricky Paul, Andrea Johnson and Mary Welton were named winners in the local contest. A judging committee included Mrs. Evelyn Agee Harvey Gaede and Mrs. Kathy Gilmore. Winners advance to the district competition against other local winners.
