Steamer Shelikof Delivers Mail Then Sails Westward
Steamer Shelikof reached port shortly after midnight Thursday from Seattle to carry Dora's mail run westward. She arrived via a side passage with a small mail load from Juneau and then proceeded directly to Seward. The Alaska Agricultural Experiment Station report for 1905, received from the agent in charge, details extensive progress in understanding Alaska's agricultural potential with numerous illustrations and weather tables. The Gateway plans to publish portions of the report. Ketchikan postmaster J. J. Williams was recently found to be shy 3140, superseded, and out on bail awaiting an embezzlement hearing.
