Roanoke Steamer Chosen For Alaska Trade Route

The Melville Dollar, trading under Cynaiy Fosen, reached port Monday with 207 tons of rerigin cargo including 100,000 feet of last material and 1,000 Rosier coal for the Royal Lumber and Fuel Company. Among Santa Ana passengers was C L Vawter deputy U S marshal at Unga taking Thom Devine to Valdez for trial in the U S district court on incest charges. The two young girls said to be Devine's victims rode along. Devine, an Unga veteran, was bound over by Commissioner Dunfield. Marshal Vawter, former Nome U S marshal, travels with Mrs Vawter.
