Man Buried Beneath Avalanche of Snow
Wednesday evening a major avalanche near Sew s cabin buried the structure and a miner known as Deadwood Dick, named John Rector, with fifty feet of snow. Rescue efforts found the cabin roof and parts of the cabin, but no trace of the man as teams tunneled through snow toward the water line. Special to The Daily Gateway Susitna Station reports Lake Creek road house on the Yent na river burned last week, with heavy losses and owners planning move for winter.
