Coal Miners Strike Looms Across Eastern States
Eastern coal miners plan a broad walkout set to begin April 1 after the Mine Workers' organization rejected their latest demands. About 28,000 miners are expected to strike, with a relief fund built from the 1914- era surplus and aid from unimpacted states. Demands include wage increases, boy labor limits, union standards for day laborers, and pay differentials between pick and machine mining.

Seattle Feb 12 The steamship Oregon sails tomorrow for Seward and Valdez with 400 cases of eggs for Fairbanks to relieve an egg famine. Man Falls Thirty Feet at Railroad Bridge Fatal Injuries
Robert E. Stover fell thirty feet from a bridge on mile 12 of the railroad last Monday while placing plates beneath a rail. He sustained multiple injuries and died Thursday after being brought to the local hospital. He left a seven year old child in San Diego living with relatives and was buried Friday. Sells Out Lumber Stock to Kenai Lumber & Fuel Company and shifts to Seward Commercial Company business. Alaska Central Railway invites all Alaskans to use the Industrial Bureau in Seattle as headquarters while in that city.
