Austinville girl and suitor arrested after elopement plan
A one year old Hazel Wagner wearing overalls and a black cast was arrested with 19 year old Fred Klinseggar in Chicago after boarding an inbound freight train. Police said they planned to marry against her father's wishes. The pair were held as authorities notified their parents. Klinseggar had a revolver and $14 on him.

Man Fires At Two Women After Whiskey Shot
Jacob Meyers, a farmer near Sac City, obtained two gallons of C C D whiskey from Omaha. After drinking, he fired at Libby Hart, a hired worker, missing, then shot at his sister-in-law Mrs Meyers, wounding her forehead lightly. He was arrested and jailed, claiming aim at a blackbird.

Sister Paula Carroll of the Holy Ghost sisterhood died at the Wesr Dubuque convent on Sunday morning after a six month illness. Born in Curlew, Palo Alto county, twenty one years ago, she joined the order at eighteen and taught in Fairbank Iowa before returning to Dubuque.
